Nine people were left injured this morning after a light delivery van collided with a truck on the R59 in Ascot On Vaal in Gauteng.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found both the heavy truck and delivery van in the middle of the road. the delivery van had sustained a large amount of damage in the collision.
Nine people that had been in the delivery van at the time of the collision were found seated outside their vehicle.
On assessment, paramedics found that all nine patients had sustained minor injuries in the collision. Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were reported on the scene.
Paramedics treated the patients and transported them to various hospitals in the area for further treatment.
The driver of the heavy truck fortunately escaped injury.
It is believed that the delivery van collided with three truck when the truck apparently attempted to perform a u-turn in the road.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
