Two killed in collision between taxi and bakkie on N2 South at Durban

Two people have been killed and two others have sustained minor injuries after a taxi and a bakkie collided with each other on the N2 South near NCP cement in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal.

The exact detail to the cause of the accident will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.

Reports from the scene indicate that among the deceased is the driver of the bakkie and a passenger from the taxi.

Netcare911 paramedics worked alongside various emergency services on scene.

Paramedics had to use the jaws of life to extricate the driver of the bakkie out of the wreckage.

The two people were declared dead on scene by paramedics.

The two who sustained minor injuries were stabilised on scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

This accident happened on Saturday evening at about 07h30.
