Four killed, two injured in R617 Boston collision

Four people were killed and two others were left with various injuries after a bakkie and a light motor vehicle collided on the R617 outside of Boston in KwaZulu Natal.

Shortly before 1pm paramedics arrived on the scene where they found a light motor vehicle with extensive damage standing on the side of the road. Three people were found with fatal injuries inside of the vehicle. One person could be freed from the vehicle quickly and paramedics initiated CPR. Sadly, despite all the efforts of the paramedics on scene, the man succumbed to his injuries.

Paramedics and rescue workers had to use rescue equipment to free the deceased from the vehicle.

Two people from the bakkie were found with minor to moderate injuries. Both of them were treated on the scene and transported to Northdale Hospital by ER24 and another service.

The exact cause for the collision is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene.
