M13 Kloof crash leaves man seriously injured

At 16h00 on Thursday afternoon Netcare 911 paramedics and the fire department raced to the scene of a vehicle that overturned on the M13 in Kloof. Reports from the scene indicate that the vehicle veered off the roadway, went up an embankment and rolled over on its side.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the driver trapped in the wreckage with serious injuries. Firemen and the Netcare rescue officer used the Jaws of Life to extricate the patient by doing a front roof flap. The patient was immobilised on a trauma board and stabilised before he w was removed from the wreckage, he was then loaded in an ambulance and transported to a Durban hospital for the care that he required.
