One person was killed and ten others sustained various injuries when the bakkie they were traveling in overturned on Matupa Road, Tzaneen.
At approximately 2.30am this morning, paramedics from ER24 attended the scene where they found a bakkie wedged up near a telephone pole on the side of the road. The occupants of the bakkie were found lying near the vehicle.
One person was found with fatal injuries and declared dead on the scene. The remainder of the patients were treated for lacerations, scrapes and bruises. They were later transported by various services to Letaba and Van Velden Hospitals.
At this stage it is not clear if a second vehicle was involved in the collision. Local authorities attended the scene and will conduct an investigation.
