Truck and taxi collide injuring nine, Pinehaven

Nine people were left injured this morning after a truck and taxi collided at the R28 and N14 Split in Pinehaven, west of Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene shortly after 06h30 and found the taxi on the side of the island with a small bakkie parked in front of it. A large truck, that had also been in the collision, had parked in the emergency lane.

On inspection, paramedics found that nine people from the taxi had been injured. Assessments showed that the injuries sustained ranged from minor to moderate.

The patients were treated for their injuries and thereafter transported to Laratong and Yusuf Dadoo Hospital for further treatment.

The details surrounding the cause of the collision are not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
