A 28-year-old woman was left critically injured this morning after she was stabbed multiple times outside a shop on Milton Road in Orkney in the North West.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 07h25 after they were contacted by the SAPS.
On arrival, paramedics were lead into the shop where they found the woman lying on the floor in a large pool of blood.
Paramedics immediately assessed the woman and found that she had sustained roughly 12 stab wounds, leaving her in a critical condition.
The patient was treated for her multiple injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patient was transported to a Life Anncron Hospital for further treatment.
It is believed that the woman had been opening up her shop when she was approached by an unknown number of armed men. They apparently forced her to open the shop and thereafter began stabbing her.
The exact details surrounding the incident are not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
