At 00h23 on Sunday morning Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision opposite the Woodlands Shopping centre along Garsfontein Road, Pretoria. Reports from the scene indicate that the car was hit in the side by a taxi. Exact detail to the cause of the crash and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the unrestrained driver of the vehicle to have sustained life–threatening injuries. The Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedics and his team worked fervently at the scene to stabilise the thirty-five-year-old man. After he was spinally immobilised and placed on a ventilator, they transported him to a nearby hospital for the care that he required.
