Two injured in Little Falls Collision.

Two people were injured this morning, one critically, after a bakkie and light motor vehicle collided at the Hendrick Potgieter and Fred and Harry Road intersection in Little Falls, west of Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 08h23 and found both vehicles in the middle of the intersection.

It is believed that the light motor vehicle initially lay on its side but was pushed upright by members of the public.

On assessment, paramedics found a man in his 30s lying trapped inside his light motor vehicle in a critical condition.

ER24 rescue medics had to use specialised rescue tools to free the man from the vehicle. Once extricated, paramedics treated the man and provided him with numerous advanced life support interventions.

A second man, also in his 30s, was found seated inside his bakkie. The patient was assessed and found to have sustained only minor injuries.

Both patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

The exact cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
