Two people have been injured, one seriously so after a head on collision on Richmond Road just past RTI Traffic Police offices this morning just after 8am.
Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that two vehicles had collided head on. One of the vehicles then rolled coming to rest on its side. One of the drivers was entrapped in the wreckage and was freed using the jaws of life by Rescuers. Once freed the patient was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for the further care that they required. The other driver was also stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further.
