Biker critical after collision, Mitchells Plain.

A 51-year-old man was left critically injured this morning after a bakkie and motorbike collided on the R310 in Mitchells Plain in the Western Cape.

An ER24 paramedic on his way to work came across the incident at 05h20 this morning.

Upon arrival, paramedics found the male patient lying in the road next to his bike. A bakkie was parked just a short distance away.

On assessment, paramedics found that the man had sustained numerous injuries to both of his legs, leaving him in a critical condition.

Paramedics treated the patient and provided him with numerous advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patient was transported to a Military Hospital for urgent treatment.

The driver of the bakkie fortunately, escape injury.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
