Eleven injured in crash on M25, KwaMashu

[SHERWOOD] - Man found dead on M13

Eleven people, including three children, sustained various injuries when the vehicle they were traveling in crashed through the west bound barrier on the M25 in KwaMashu and landed on the east bound carriageway.

At approximately 6.10pm paramedics arrived on the scene where they found the bakkie in the road. Several people were lying near the bakkie on the roads’ surface. One person was in a critical condition.

Ten others, including three children aged between 7 and 9 years old, were found with various injuries. They were all assessed and treated on the scene before being transported to Mahatma Ghandi District Hospital. One person was transported to Addington Hospital.

It is believed that most of the people were sitting in the back of the bakkie when they were ejected.

The exact cause of the incident is not yet known.
