Golden Gate crash down embankment leaves two dead one injured

On Sunday morning at 02h46 Netcare 911 paramedics from Bethlehem responded to a collision in the Golden Gate national park. Reports from the scene indicate that the vehicle with three occupants veered off the roadway and plunged 100 metres down an embankment.

Paramedics arrived and found that the vehicle burst into flames with two people still trapped in the wreckage while one man was thrown from the vehicle before it started burning. Tragically, the two men that were trapped in the vehicle sustained extensive burns and died at the scene. The man that escaped sustained minor injuries but refused treatment.
