An elderly woman is in a critical condition after she sustained multiple gunshot wounds at a shopping centre on Quintus van der Walt Avenue in Kempton Park.
Reports from the scene indicate that the woman was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money.

When Netcare911 paramedics arrived on the scene, we found the woman lying next to her vehicle.
While assessing her , paramedics found that she was in a critical condition.
The Netcare2 helicopter was dispatched to the scene to airlift the critically wounded woman to a level 1 trauma facility in Johannesburg for further medical care.
Police are investigating the incident.
