One person died and 10 people were injured when a taxi rolled on the R59 close to Michelle Avenue in Alberton this morning.
Upon arrival at the scene, ER24 paramedics and other services found several people scattered across the scene.
Sadly a man had succumbed to his injuries. It is understood that eight people sustained critical injuries. Two of them were airlifted to hospital.
Other patients, including those who sustained moderate injuries, were treated and transported to local hospitals for further medical care by ambulance.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown.
Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
