One killed and entrapped in burning vehicle and another suffers burn wounds on M4

Crisis Medical paramedics responded to the call for a motor vehicle collision on the M4 northbound near broadway shortly after 21:00 this evening.

On arrival paramedics found a vehicle in flames with the driver entrapped. The only passenger of the vehicle managed to escape before the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames.

Crisis Medial paramedics are currently on scene treating the passenger, a male of 23 years old who is sustaining moderate injuries and second degree burns. Once stabilised, he will be transported to hospital for further care.

Ethekwini fire and rescue are on scene and have managed to extinguish the fire.

A secondary accident has occurred as a result rubber necking in close proximity to the first collision. We strongly urge to public to steer clear of the area while the necessary services attend to the scene.
