2 children narrowly escapes serious injury after being struck by taxi

Two school children were lucky to escape serious injury when a minibus taxi struck them in Greenwood Park on Thursday afternoon.

Marshall Security’s Emergency Contact Centre was alerted to the incident by bystanders shortly after 13h00 and immediately dispatched our Medical Support Unit.

On arrival on scene it was ascertained that two brothers, school children, aged between 7 and 9 years of age, were struck by a minibus taxi whilst attempting to cross a busy roadway at the intersection of Chris Hani (North Coast) Road and Mimosa Road.

The two young men remarkably sustained only minor injuries and were treated on scene before being released into the custody of their school teacher.

The necessary authorities were on scene and will investigate the incident further.
