One person was killed and five others sustained various injuries in a collision on Manning Road in Pietermaritzburg.
Shortly after midnight, paramedics from ER24 and other services arrived on the scene where they found the two vehicles on the scene. Four people were found in one of the vehicles. Three of them sustained several injuries ranging from minor to moderate. One person was found with fatal injuries. Sadly, there was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared dead on the scene.
Two people were found in the second vehicle with moderate injuries.
The injured were treated on the scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further care. The exact circumstances surrounding the collision is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene and will conduct an investigation.
