Taxi crashes leave many injured on Friday evening in Durban

Two separate taxi accidents have left scores of people injured on Friday evening.

The first collision took place around 18:30 on the N3 West bound just after Brickfield Road. Two taxis had collided into each other in the taxi lane. Multiple people were injured including a pregnant lady. Multiple ambulances attended the scene to assist with the mass casualty scene. Approximately twenty people were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

Then shortly after 19:30 Rescue Care Paramedics attended to another accident involving a taxi on the N3 West Bound just after Tollgate Bridge. A Taxi had ploughed into the back of a car. Yet again multiple resources were dispatched to assist with the mass casualty scene. A total of eleven people had sustained various injuries and were stabilised on the scene before being transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

Metro Police attended both the scenes and will be investigating further.

Traffic was severely affected whilst emergency personal worked to treat the injured.
