A man was killed this afternoon in a freak accident while working on a plantation off the R71 outside of Tzaneen in Limpopo.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man lying underneath a tree surrounded by a number of his colleagues.
On assessment, paramedics discovered that the man had sustained a large wound to his neck and chest.
Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his multiple, fatal injuries. Nothing more could be done for the man and he was declared dead on the scene.
It is understood that the man had been cutting a tree using a chainsaw when it apparently slipped, cutting his neck and chest.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
