House robbery in Clarendon Road Durban

Shortly after 10:00 on Wednesday, the Marshall Security Emergency Contact Center received a call through a local neighbourhood watch for a house robbery in progress at premises in Clarendon Road in the suburb of Parkhill, north of Durban.

Armed reaction officers were immediately dispatched and on arrival and further investigation it was ascertained that three males armed with pistols, forced entry into the premises by derailing the driveway gate. The domestic worker who was at the home at the time along with a two-year-old boy were made to lie on the kitchen floor whilst the armed men ransacked the premises, making off with various electronic equipment as well as a large safe, which was reported to contain a large amount of jewellery.

The armed suspects fled in a grey high-end motor vehicle in an unknown direction. An extensive search of the area was conducted, however, the suspects remain at large.

The domestic worker and child did not suffer any physical injury, however, were left severely traumatised and were attended to by Marshall Security’s Medical Support Unit.

The scene was later handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
