Man seriously injured in apparent hijacking, Pinetown

A man, believed to be in his 20s, was left seriously injured this afternoon after he sustained a gunshot wound in an apparent hijacking on 38th Avenue in Claremont outside of Pinetown in KwaZulu-Natal.

ER24 paramedics, along with SAPS, arrived on the scene and found the man lying in the middle of the road.

Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen, leaving him in a serious condition.

Paramedics immediately treated the man and provided him with advanced life support interventions.

Once treated, the man was transported to a private hospital for urgent treatment.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
