Two men were critically injured this morning after an apparent structural collapse at a construction site at the corners of West and Rivonia in Sandton.
ER24 paramedics, along with Fire services, arrived on the scene and were immediately lead by construction workers into the site.
On inspection, paramedics discovered that two men had fallen through some scaffolding.
Paramedics immediately assessed both men and found that they were in a critical condition, having sustained numerous injuries.
Fire services began to evacuate the construction site while paramedics treated the patients and provided them with numerous advanced life support interventions.
Once treated, the patients were transported to a nearby private hospital for urgent treatment, one by ER24 and the second by another private service.
The cause of the collapse is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
