Six people were injured this morning after a bakkie overturned on the N1 southbound Highway between William Nicol and Malibongwe, north of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene and found the bakkie lying on its side in the emergency lane of the highway. Several occupants of the vehicle were found seated on the side of the road.
Upon assessment, paramedics found that six patients had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported on the scene.
Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Helen Joseph Provincial hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the incident is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
