On Christmas Day just after 1pm EMER-G-MED’s RV6, M03 and A01 were dispatched to reports of a serious collision on the N14 close to the Malibongwe Drive exit, in Nooitgedacht.
Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that a car had been rear-ended at a high-speed, allegedly after the driver slowed to avoid colliding with a herd of goats, who were crossing the highway.
A total of six people, including two children, sustained injuries ranging from moderate to critical. Three requiring Advanced Life Support intervention.
The patients were assessed and treated at the scene before being transported to various nearby hospitals for further management.
