Fatal taxi crash in Pinetown

A twelve year old child has been killed and multiple people injured in a taxi accident at the corner of Marianridge Rd and Adam’s Rd in Pinetown on Friday afternoon.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that the taxi had left the roadway and collided with two pedestrians one being a twelve years old child before crashing into a swing structure. Paramedics found the twelve years old in a critical condition and Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise the child however his injuries were to severe and resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful. He was declared deceased at the scene. A further nine people had sustained various injuries ranging from minor to moderate and we’re stabilised on the scene before being transported to nearby hospitals for the further care that they required.

At this stage the exact cause of the collision is unknown however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further.
