Gauteng: A 25-year-old man suspected of hijacking a motorist is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court today, 9 February 2017. The suspect was arrested by the Sunnyside detectives in Pretoria CBD on Tuesday night.
According to reports, the owner of the hijacked vehicle had arrived in Sunnyside last Thursday night to visit a friend. The pair were reportedly accosted by three armed men who threatened them with firearms.
The suspects are said to have forced the owner, an adult man, into the boot of his BMW before robbing the female friend of her cellphone. The lady was left unharmed. The victim was dropped off somewhere in Ekurhukeni.
The suspect is expected to face charges of hijacking and armed robbery. #CrimeMustFall
