North West: Four suspects are expected to appear in the Koster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 17 February 2017, in connection with armed robbery and possession of suspected stolen property.
The incident occurred on a farm between Derby and Koster. Their court appearance stems after they were apprehended on Wednesday, 15 February 2017 at Lethabong Township while police were doing routine stop and searches.
According to information, four suspects overpowered the 70-year-old victim, while he was trying to open his gate. It is alleged that they tied his hands with a rope and forced him to go back inside the house. The victim’s wife who was inside the house, was also tied with a rope. The suspects allegedly demanded money from the victims and fled the scene with jewellery, three cellphones, three firearms, a camera and an undisclosed amount of cash.
During the arrest, the victim’s property was allegedly found in possession of the suspects, which was seized by police.
