At 13h32 on Saturday afternoon Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a pedestrian accident on the R74 ( Kwa-Kwa Road) between Harrismith and Bergville. Reports from the scene indicate that a man ran across the roadway and landed in front of a vehicle that came hurtling down the road.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the car had burst into flames on impact, fortunately the occupants escaped uninjured. The male pedestrian was found lying on the roadway, tragically, he died before our arrival due to the extensive injuries that he sustained.
