Western Cape: A Rapid Rail Unit Serjeant arrested two train robbers while on his way to work. On Monday, 13 February 2017 at 05:10, Sergeant Marlon October of the Rapid Rail Unit, Bellville was on his way to work, travelling in a train from the Strand to Bellville. He heard a commotion on the train while travelling between Somerset West and Firgrove railway stations, and saw two men with knives robbing a woman and wanted to stab her when she resisted.

A computer was stabbed in his left arm when he intervened by kicking the one suspect from behind in trying to stop him from stabbing the woman, as Sergeant October was approaching the robbers.
