At around 16h30 on Monday afternoon Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision along Armstrong Road in Umhlanga. Reports from the scene indicate that a BMW struck the man while he was running across the roadway. Exact detail to the incident will however remain a subject for police investigation.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the man had slid across the bonnet on impact and shattered the windscreen with his head. The patient was found to have sustained life-threatening injuries, Paramedics placed the man on a ventilator and after he was spinally immobilised, they transported him to a local hospital for the care that he required.
