19 Injured in taxi crash on the N2 North bound near Clare Road bridge

Nineteen people have sustained various injuries after a taxi and a car collided on the N2 North bound near Clare Road bridge on Saturday evening.

Just after 8pm on Saturday evening Rescue Care Paramedics were called to the N2 North Bound near Clare Road Bridge for a serious collision. On Arrival Paramedics found multiple people had been injured after a taxi and a car had collided with the taxi overturning coming to rest on its side. Some of the passengers had been ejected when the vehicle was rolling. More ambulances were called to assist with the multiple casualty scene. A total of nineteen people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious. Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise three seriously injured patients on the scene. Amongst the injured were five children who were also injured. Once all of the injured had been stabilised on the scene they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

At this stage the exact cause of the collision is unknown however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further.
