Two people have been killed and three others injured after a vehicle collided with pedestrians before fleeing and colliding with a car and then another pedestrian on Shallcross Road near the Ridge shopping centre on Friday evening.
Just after 21:15 Rescue Care Paramedics were called to the scene which was spread over about 300 metres. Two men had been struck by the vehicle initially and had suffered severe injuries, unfortunately they had passed away before Paramedics could arrive. They were declared deceased on the scene. The vehicle then fled colliding with a car which left two people injured. The vehicle then fled again colliding with another pedestrian leaving him with moderate injuries. Rescue Care Paramedics stabilised all of the injured on scene before transporting them to various hospitals for further care.
SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
