Suspects arrested in major drug bust at a roadblock on the N1 near Colesberg

Northern Cape, KIMBERLEY- Four men aged between 25 and 40 were arrested after they were found with a consignment of drugs (Mandrax tablets) with an estimated street value of R10 Million.

The suspects were travelling in two separate vehicles from Johannesburg towards Cape Town.

The suspects were arrested on Tuesday, 21 March 2017 at a roadblock on the N1 near Colesberg, during a High Density Operation. The operation aims to focus on transportation of illegal goods, substances, search for wanted suspects and illegal firearms.

The suspects will be appearing before the Colesberg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 23 March 2017 on a charge of dealing in drugs.

The Northern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Peter Shivuri, commended the members for their vigilance. #DrugsOffTheStreets
