CarZar and Safety on the Road

The Arrive Alive Website development team recently held discussions with CarZar, a company in the online vehicle retail sector expressing the intention to become more involved in efforts to make our roads safer! We decided to raise a few questions and gain some insights from CarZar:

Can you provide a brief history of CarZar?

CarZar is an online car buying service for the second hand auto-trade market in South Africa. In operation since April 2016, the young company has been disrupting the car industry since the release of its unique online algorithm.

Although CarZar may be a young tech-startup, the company has seen extensive growth in its safe, transparent, convenient and competent car buying services, and has expanded to Johannesburg and Durban.

What are the most important aspects of an online vehicle retail platform to be successful?

The car-selling process should not be challenging. CarZar firmly stands behind its cornerstones by offering a convenient, safe, transparent and competent service, making it an easy transaction for consumers and making it what we believe, successful.

How will CarZar plan to create road safety awareness – and would this include sharing information on acquiring ownership of safe vehicles?

CarZar is currently running a Safety Campaign, in partnership with Arrive Alive. Through educational blog posts and social media posts, CarZar will be staying true to their brand promise by remaining informative about all aspects of road safety.

Why is it important for CarZar to support efforts to raise awareness on Road Safety?

One of CarZar’s cornerstones is Safety. At CarZar, reliability and trustworthiness lies at the heart of consumers’ car selling experience. Contributing towards the awareness of road safety is, therefore, an important factor that CarZar will continue to support.

Would you agree that vehicle roadworthiness is an important aspect towards making roads safer?

Roadworthiness is definitely an aspect to consider alongside road safety. Driving an unroadworthy vehicle can lead to serious accidents. Car insurances view an unroadworthy vehicle as reckless and they do not insure recklessness. Apart from that, it is against the law to drive an unroadworthy vehicle.

It could be said that some sellers “want to get rid of their vehicles” – Does CarZar have a strategy in place to ensure that the vehicles sold are “roadworthy”?

Before making a final cash offer to the consumer, all vehicles sold to CarZar are examined by CarZar’s expert inspectors – who have been in the industry for decades – to ensure that the vehicle is physically, mechanically and electrically roadworthy. When CarZar takes care of all paperwork for the seller, CarZar makes sure that the vehicle possesses a Roadworthy Certificate.
