The suspects were arrested for contact crimes; drug related crimes, as well as liquor related crimes through various operations that were executed to ensure safety on national roads, residential areas and places where people gathered in large numbers.

As part of the operations, the police together with various law enforcement agencies managed to issue 198 road traffic and liquor related offences fines. A firearm, two vehicles, drugs, knives and various electrical appliances were confiscated during these operations.

The deployment of members aiming to ensure a safe and secure environment as well as stabilising identified crime hot-spot areas continues.

While we reiterate our commitment of providing safety to our communities and bringing down the levels of serious crimes, we are still urging members of the community to work together with the police including taking preventative measures to safeguard themselves and their properties as well as obeying traffic rules. #OpPaseka #SaferCommunities #Back2Basics
