Durban N2 crash leaves two injured on Umgeni Road

On Monday evening, Netcare 911 paramedics and their rescue unit responded to a collision on the N2 South at Umgeni Road in Durban. Reports from the scene indicate that three vehicles collided, exact detail to the cause of the crash and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation.

The rescue unit and the fire services arrived at the scene and found one female still trapped in the wreckage of her vehicle. After all the injured were examined, it was found that two people were injured, one seriously while the other one escaped with minor injuries.

The rescue officer and firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free the seriously injured passenger while the medics worked hand-in-hand to stabilise her.  After the patient was extricated and spinally immobilised, they transported her to a specialised hospital for the care that she required. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital by his employers for further care.
