Allegedly unlicenced driver apologises before fleeing from scene of crash

Residents of Verulam – KZN are requested to be on the lookout for a silver/blue Hyundai Accent that is damaged on the front right hand side.

The vehicle is being sought after the driver fled the scene of a collision on Inanda Road in Verulam. It is alleged that he attempted to overtake a VW Golf however misjudged the distance of an oncoming vehicle. The driver of the Hyundai Accent attempted to veer back into his lane however collided into the VW Golf.

The guilty driver then stopped his vehicle and apologised to the 65 year old driver of the VW Golf claiming that he was unlicensed & that he had been charged for unlicensed driving in the past.

The Indian male then got back into his vehicle and fled the scene. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle turn off Inanda Road into Rosemary Drive in Brindhaven.

The driver, a cardiac patient suffered severe chest pains after the collision. She was treated by paramedics on scene.
