On Friday night 02 June 2017, Netcare 911 paramedics responded to reports of two men being knocked down by a car on the N3 direction towards Durban, near to the N2 Spaghetti Junction.
Reports from the scene alleged that two men had tried to cross the road. Paramedics attended to two men who had been struck by the car. One had sustained severe injuries and died at the scene. The second had also sustained multiple and severe injuries and was in a critical condition, he was attended to by a Netcare 911 Advanced Life Support paramedic and placed on a ventilator. He was stabilised at the scene and was transported by Netcare 911 under the constant care of the paramedic to hospital for the further urgent medical care that he required.
The police also attended the scene.
