One killed after truck and vehicle collide head-on at the Edwin Swales interchange

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was killed when a truck and a light motor vehicle collided after the M7 at the Edwin Swales interchange this morning.

It is believed that the truck, travelling in a southbound direction, crossed the barrier and collided head on with the light motor vehicle.

Upon ER24’s arrival at 09H17, the truck driver was walking on scene. He sustained minor injuries. The driver of the light motor vehicle was declared dead on scene by another medical service.

The passenger of the truck driver sustained minor injuries and was transported by another medical service to a nearby hospital.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known, but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
