Gary Kirsten to host Parent in Sport Evening at Curro Hermanus

The role of parents in the challenging world of youth sports has become more important than ever before.

Gary Kirsten will host a ‘Parent in Sport’ evening at Curro Hermanus on 31 August (6 pm) to shed light on the influence parents have on their kids.

The event is free and is a continuation of the work done by Gary Kirsten Cricket (GKC) at the school over the past year. Players interested in private coaching in the Overberg region are welcome to attend.

GKC is now permanently based at the school and offers private and group coaching to enthusiastic young cricketers.

“The evening will offer insights into the challenges that coaches, players, and parents face in the current school sports environment. It is demanding on youngsters and they need as much support as they can get,” Kirsten said.

Before the event, GKC will conduct a free coaching clinic from 3-5pm at the school.

“We are excited to continue the work being done in the Overberg region. It is wonderful to be working with the Curro School group and some of their players,” Kirsten concluded.
