House Break-In Suspect Apprehended: Verulam – KwaZulu Natal

A 27-year-old Indian male was apprehended by a gardener while after he broke into his employees home on Todd Street in Verulam a short while ago.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the home after receiving a call from a member of public requesting assistance. Upon arrival, it was established that the suspect had removed wooden panels from the kitchen door and entered the home (picture 3). As he was exiting the building the gardener managed to apprehend him. The man was found in possession of metal kitchen utensils which he claimed was going to be sold to a local scrap yard. The proceeds of the sale were going to be used to purchase heroin.

The suspect had to be released after the homeowner refused to register a criminal case against him.
