One person was injured after a Toyota Hiace taxi he was travelling in crashed into a ditch in Canelands – Verulam a short while ago.
At approximately 15:02 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of the incident. Upon arrival one person was found to have sustained moderate injuries. He was treated on scene before being transported to Osindisweni Hospital.
It is alleged that while travelling from Cottonlands towards Verulam the vehicle experienced a mechanical problem with the steering column. The taxi then veered across the road and crashed into a ditch.
The driver was not injured in the accident.
