A man, believed to be in his 40s, was killed late last night when his bakkie crashed into a center medium on Northumberland Road in Northriding, Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 22h42 to find the bakkie lying on its side in the middle of the road. The body of a man was found lying approximately 30 meters away while a second man was walking around on the scene.
Paramedics assessed the men and found that one had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the man and he was declared dead on the scene.
The second man was assessed and found to have sustained only minor injuries. He was treated but later declined transportation to a hospital.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
