Taxi rear-ends another in Pinelands leaving twelve injured

Twelve people were left injured this morning following a rear-end collision between two taxis on the N2 between the Jan Smuts and Raapenburg in Pinelands, Western Cape.

ER24 paramedics, along with Life Healthcare and other services, arrived on the scene to find the two taxis in the fast lane of the highway. Several people were found walking around on the scene while one other was found seated in one of the taxis.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that twelve had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to various hospitals for further treatment.

Local authorities were also present on the scene for further investigations.
