Tshwane Metro Police Department shares weekend crime fighting successes

The Tshwane Metro Police Crime Prevention Task Team reacted to a call about a vehicle carrying stolen goods on Saturday 09 September 2017.

The vehicle was said to be travelling from Mpumalanga. The officers then spotted the vehicle at N4 highway near the weigh Bridge.

They pulled the vehicle over, there were three occupants in the vehicle including the driver.

They searched the vehicle and found 2 bags full of cellphones and one unlicensed firearm.

The three males were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and suspected stolen property.

The cellphones valued at R150 000 were linked to an armed robbery in Middelburg.

This is the same TMPD team that arrested 5 suspects two weeks ago for possession of stolen cellphones that were tracked at a house in Pretoria East.

TMPD Crime Prevention team also recovered a stolen vehicle in Olievenhoutbosch on Saturday . The vehicle was taken during a house robbery in the Littleton area.

One Dagga dealer who was found with dagga valued R305 000 in Hercules was also nabbed by the TMPD Drug team this Saturday.

The department commends the TMPD officers for their swift and brave response.
