15 Children injured after taxi overturns in Vanderbijlpark

Fifteen people were assessed this afternoon, including thirteen children, after a taxi rolled on Hertz Road in Vanderbijlpark.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 13h15 to find the taxi lying on its side on the pavement. The occupants had already climbed out of the taxi and were found seated on the pavement.

Paramedics assessed thirteen children and two adults, finding that only one child and both adults had sustained minor to moderate injuries. The remaining children, fortunately, escaped injury.

The three patients were treated for their injuries and were later transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

The remaining children were left in the care of their principal.

Local authorities were on the scene to investigate the cause of this incident.
