A head-on collision in Potchefstroom has left six people injured

Six people were left injured early this morning, including a nine-year-old child, when a taxi and light motor vehicle collided head-on on the N12, approximately 20km outside of Potchefstroom.

ER24 paramedics were alerted to the incident at 02h24 and immediately responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, paramedics found both the taxi and a light motor vehicle in the middle of the road.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that six, including a nine-year-old girl, had sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.

The patients were treated for their injuries and were provided with advanced life support interventions. The patients were thereafter transported to Potchefstroom Provincial Hospital for further care.

The details surrounding this incident are unclear but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
