Bakkie and car collide leaving eight injured on the N1 south-bound Highway in Buccleuch

Eight people were left injured this evening when a bakkie and light motor vehicle collided on the N1 south-bound Highway in Buccleuch, Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at approximately 20h00, finding a bakkie lying on its side in the middle of the road while the second vehicle had had come to a stop a short distance away. Several people that had been traveling on the back of the bakkie were found seated around their vehicle.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that eight people, including two children, had sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.

The patients were treated for their injuries, and the seriously injured provided with pain-relief medication, before they were transported to Busamed and Helen Joseph Hospital for further care.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
