A man, believed to be in his 30s, was left seriously injured this morning when he was knocked over by a light motor vehicle on Edendale road in Edendale, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 06h33 and found another service on scene. Paramedics found the man lying some distance away from the road on the grassy embankment. The vehicle that had collided with the man was found parked a short distance away.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained several injuries, including a serious head injury, leaving him in a critical condition.
Paramedics treated the man and immediately initiated advanced life support interventions. Shortly after treatment, the man was transported to Edendale Provincial hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the vehicle was assessed and found to have escaped injury.
The local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
